CHALLENGE
The insured electronic data system facility sustained vandalism to servers,
RAID storage systems, and backup media.
SOLUTION
Through the use of direct disk access
hardware and software tools, LWG was successful in the recovery of over
90% of the data. The job required the understanding of basic data structures
as well as the complicated functionality of RAID storage devices.

CHALLENGE
A printing company sustained water damage to archived media. The media
was in the form of ZIP data disks and contained several hundred custom
designed printing jobs. A claim was submitted to recreate the affected
data.
SOLUTION
After initial review of the supplied
ZIP media, LWG determined recovery was not possible due to extensive contamination
and data corruption. However, in an attempt to fully assist the client,
conversations were conducted with the insured and it was determined that
the portions of the data in question may reside in another location. After
this determination was made, the claim cost dropped 80%.

CHALLENGE
A disgruntled employee deleted important files and formatted the hard
disks containing them, leaving the client to face a daunting claim amount
for not only the cost of recreation but potential business interruption.
SOLUTION
Through the use of direct disk access
hardware and software tools, DRS was successful in the recovery of over
90% of the data. A further review of the recovered data clearly showed the
dates of the file deletion and a pattern of deletion that aided in the client's
review of the claim.

CHALLENGE
Following a fire at an insured's residence, LWG's data recovery service
was retained to assess a computer from the fire scene. The insured reported
that a complete inventory of the home's contents resided on the internal
hard disk drive. After LWG's engagement, arson was suspected.
SOLUTION
The supplied computer was heavily
fire damaged but LWG was able to successfully extract and repair the internal
drive. The drive's contents were recovered. At the request of the client,
the recovered data was reviewed and a determination was made that the computer
system was not owned by the insured but had been stolen and fraudulently
presented. LWG testified in court to the findings, leading to a successful
denial of the claim.

CHALLENGE
Following a devastating fire in a restaurant, investigators turned to
LWG DRS to recover the security video contained within a fire-damaged
computer storage unit.
SOLUTION
The storage units were assessed
and the internal storage drives were removed. The video data was recovered
and provided for review to the investigators, assisting in the successful
review of the data.

CHALLENGE
The insured, an accountant, sustained water damage to his notebook computer.
The notebook was the only storage source of all client data. Without the
information, the insured's business was in jeopardy of failure.
SOLUTION
LWG was successful in the recovery
of all the data. Further services were provided to the client through assisting
the insured in the installation of application software and the recovered
data onto a replacement system.
